Great Zot! She’s the racist in it. She’s the one who said, « You should go back ». A witness testifies in that direction.
Why did she lie? Actually, I don’t know but I can make some hypothesis.
First, it’s a fact that playing the victim is lucrative. You get protection, help. You’re believed at once from fear to be an « oppressor ». Famous people will come to your rescue. The willingness to help a victim is ingrained in us. It’s a resource she abusedly tapped into.
Second, she knows that the probability people will check a very moving video with her crying on things you can only do « he says - she says » is minuscule. It lowers the risk to be caught.
Third, she appears to me as a fairly far to the left-oriented person, a woke SJW. My picture of such people is they consider themselves perfect because they’re woke. They can’t be wrong. Anybody opposing them does it by malevolence or ignorance and is still doing something wrong, perpetuating their oppression. Anything outside that picture (getting mad, insulting) is excusable as reparation to them. She was « triggered » by Sparks, therefore, she had to destroy him. He dared to diminish her « empowerment ».
Big gains are expected when you’re a certified victim. To have that you need to be attacked, oppressed, slandered and so on by racists, transphobes and the other expressions of the book. It looks like an addiction and she is on the hook for it. Why not create one? Risks of a backlash are minimal and SJW reasoning allows it.
She lied. I wish it were not the case.
Actual victims are deprived of credibility. Potential people ready to help and sympathize are pushed away from helping others in need. The divide between people goes deeper. It’s a perfect recipe for perpetuating the resentment, the victimhood narrative, the rage against each. Some famous song was titled « Highway to Hell ».
We’re on this highway.
I don’t know how to call out abuses of that sort. I suspect it would be useless because it plays into the hands of the victimhood culture.
Maybe, the hint of an idea of a way to leave that highway is building a new culture where victims will exist but they won’t consider abusing it. It’s horribly vague.
I’m no US resident but I’m concerned by this. It will catch me one day or another.
